Blasting open our barriers to love

This weekend I was in the bathtub working through some of the heaviest emotions I have felt in a long time.

He came in and sat beside me on the floor, listening to and witnessing my process.

At one point I accused him of not understanding me.

I immediately saw the pain it caused in his eyes and knew it was a projection I was spewing, rather than the truth.

But before I could even clean up what I had said he crawled into the tub on top of me.

Fully clothed and soaking wet he held me.

And all my armor melted away as he breathed me in.

We spent the rest of the evening laughing and loving on each other in deeper ways than we have ever experienced.
