The Gift in Pain

Last night we sat around the dinner table and took turns celebrating the positive growth we see in one another.

It was so beautiful and refreshing because we each navigated some really challenging things last year.

And yet I sat there in gratitude for the hard because it produced the most positive shifts in each one of us.

Then I shared a journal entry with them that I wrote over ten years ago.

It was when Bobby and I were in a really hard place.

It felt kind of shocking because of how different we are today.

We’ve completely transformed our dynamic since then.

But I often wonder if we would have the relationship we do today if we hadn’t struggled the way we did.

Because it massively fueled us to make change and launched us into a decade of healing, learning, and growing together.

And now we are helping others do the same.

That’s the gift of our challenges.

If we let it, our wounds can become the place where the most light comes in. ✨🤍
